About the role

Do you have a passion for improving the health and well-being of communities of today and future generations? As Associate Dean, you’ll do this every day, educating, aspiring and transforming nursing and midwifery leaders through a lens of humanitarian principles of social justice, equity, and inclusion.

Reporting directly to the Executive Dean of the School of Nursing and Midwifery, the Associate Dean will continue building momentum related to regional growth in the South- West and develop courses and research through innovation in research, teaching and learning.

The Associate Dean of Nursing and Midwifery will provide representation in senior management groups within the School and externally at a national and industry level. Additionally, they will provide leadership in industry consultation, student experience and quality improvement.

Salary range

  • The base salary for Professor (Level E) is $$205,952per annum, plus 17% employer superannuation.
  • The base salary for Associate Professor (Level D) is $$160,672 – $176,649 plus 17% employer superannuation

Qualifications and experience

The successful applicant will be registered or eligible for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (as a nurse or midwife). Additionally, you will be required to demonstrate personal attributes that align with the University’s values of Integrity, Respect, Rational Inquiry, Personal Excellence and Courage.

To be considered, you will have:

  • completed a PhD;
  • completed qualifications in education and/or can demonstrate educational experience within a tertiary or clinical setting.
  • a sustained track record of research-related activities within a tertiary education or clinical setting.
  • demonstrated a sound professional and academic track record in rural and/or regional nursing or midwifery.
