Co-Director – Medicine, Cardiac & Critical Care

  • Southern Adelaide Local Health Network
  • SA Executive Services (SAES) Level 1
  • Full Time, Temporary up to 3-year contract from appointment

About the Health Service:

Southern Adelaide Local Health Network (SALHN) provides public health services including hospital, outpatient and community services to a population of more than 360,000 people across the southern Adelaide metropolitan region, as well as a range of state-wide services. The LHN has a budget of $1.5 billion with approx. 9000 dedicated staff who provide compassionate care across 20 sites and circa 900 beds, including the Flinders Medical Centre, Noarlunga Hospital, Repat Health Precinct, GP Plus centres and community services.

About the Role:

With clear key strategic priorities governed by a strong vision, purpose and values as an organisation trickling down through SALHN’s 6 clinical divisions, we seek a new Co-Director for the largest of the divisions, the Medicine, Cardiac and Critical Care portfolio. Reporting to the Clinical Director, Medicine, Cardiac and Critical Care and with strong working relationships with the SALHN Executive (particularly the COO), we are seeking an experienced operational and strategic health leader who will hold responsibility for the delivery of operational priorities to support the current and future delivery of the portfolio that encompasses >2000 staff and a $300M+ budget.

With a significant (circa $500M) investment across 4 years at SALHN enabling the growth of inpatient and outpatient services, the appointed candidate will have a collaborative and adaptive style, and be comfortable leading through and within a large, growing, complex and demanding environment. This includes driving the implementation of the SALHN strategic action plan, containing planning for future state and workforce.

This is a genuine opportunity to lead and shape the future vision and success of the Division and LHN, working collaboratively with an engaged workforce to ensure the current and future needs of the community are accommodated in a contemporary, effective and patient-centred model of care.
