Dr John Bethell graduated in medicine from the University of Aberdeen in 1991 and began his career as a doctor before moving into recruitment. He joined Morgan & Banks in 1996, leading medical and pharmaceutical executive searches, and co-founded Wavelength International in 1999 – now Australia’s leading medical recruitment firm.

After relocating to Europe in 2012, John remained a non-executive director of Wavelength while working with innovative life sciences start-ups, co-founding Luka Global Group and recruiting over 20 CEOs and senior leaders across 15 countries.

In 2019, he played a key role in Wavelength’s acquisition of Ccentric, and in 2025, he re-joined the group full-time, helping to lead Ccentric as Australia’s premier executive search firm in healthcare, life sciences, and academia.
